Features of Rubber Lifters
Rubber is a material known for its high wear resistance, durability under abrasive conditions, and ability to withstand impact loads. Rubber lifters are suitable for operation under the following conditions:
- Operating temperatures between 0 and +70°C
- Acid-alkaline environment with pH from 5 to 12
The presence of water does not compromise protective properties, as rubber is corrosion-resistant and able to withstand hydro-abrasive effects.
Using rubber protection is the most effective solution for ball mills in the 2nd and 3rd stages of grinding, as well as for other grinding units. However, the ball diameter should not exceed 80 mm, as larger sizes can cause premature failure of wear-resistant rubber linings.
In first-stage ore grinding mills, a two-layer liner is typically employed: an outer metal layer with a rubber layer beneath it.
Additional Benefits
In addition to its primary protective function, the rubber lifting helps to significantly reduce noise and vibration levels. Thanks to the sound-absorbing properties of the material, noise pollution in production facilities can be reduced by 30–50%.
Replacing a steel lifter in a ball mill with a rubber one reduces energy consumption and shortens startup time, thanks to the lighter weight of the protective layer. Moreover, the rubber coating minimizes wear and tear on the grinding media, extending the service life of your equipment.
