One of the products consistently in demand among our customers is technical rubber sheeting.

Technical rubber sheeting is a rubber product used for sealing stationary joints, reducing friction between metal components, absorbing single-impact loads, and serving as flooring material and gasket stock. Rubber sheets are widely used in various industries and sectors of the economy, as well as in machinery and other equipment, including transformer applications.

Classification of rubber sheets

Rubber sheets are classified according to:

  • application, design, and manufacturing method;
  • class;
  • type.

According to the manufacturing method, rubber sheets are divided into rubber sheets and rubber-fabric reinforced sheets (the number of fabric layers is specified by the customer).

Rubber sheets are available in two classes. Class 1 sheets, with thickness ranging from 1.0 to 20.0 mm, are intended for sealing assemblies operating at a working medium pressure of P ≤ 0.1 MPa. Class 2 sheets, with a thickness ranging from 1.0 to 60.0 mm, are intended for sealing assemblies operating at a working medium pressure of P ≥ 0.1 MPa. Class 2 sheets are also used as flooring material and for absorbing single-impact loads.

Rubber sheets also differ by their molding method. They are manufactured either by vulcanization in molds (molded sheets) or by vulcanization in autoclaves (non-molded sheets).

Technical rubber sheets: grades and specifications

Technical rubber sheets are manufactured in four grades:

  • TMKSH — heat-, frost-, acid-, and alkali-resistant rubber sheet, resistant to acidic and alkaline media, as well as low and high temperatures;
  • MBS — rubber sheet resistant to gasoline and oils;
  • AMS — rubber sheet resistant to atmospheric exposure and petroleum-based oils;
  • transformer-grade rubber sheet, used as a static sealing material in transformers and electrical equipment.

All grades of technical rubber sheets are suitable for use at operating medium temperatures ranging from −40 °C to +80 °C and at the following working pressures:

  • for acids and alkalis: 0.05–10.0 MPa;
  • for gases: 0.05–0.4 MPa;
  • for oils: 0.05–10.0 MPa.

Molded rubber sheets are manufactured in sheet sizes of 500 × 500 mm and 600 × 600 mm. Non-molded (roll) rubber sheets are available in widths ranging from 300 to 1,200 mm and lengths from 500 to 10,000 mm.

Rubber sheet hardness grades

Rubber sheets are available in three hardness grades:

  • soft;
  • medium;
  • hard.

Rubber products are manufactured in accordance with State Standard GOST 7338-90.
