Ukrpromservice specializes in the manufacture of rubber technical products and offers a range of items widely used in the repair of river and sea vessels, as well as in shipbuilding.

Soft marine-grade rubber C 509 is used to manufacture high-quality seals for portholes, door openings, hatch structures, and other hull elements, joints, and covers of various tanks and containers.

Main functional features of C 509 marine-grade rubber

Sealing rubber has a special structure and is produced for specific operating conditions. This type of sealing is highly practical and performs several functions at once:

— protects vulnerable areas from the damaging effects of salty seawater and humid air;

— dampens mechanical vibration;

— helps extend the service life of equipment;

— provides reliable waterproofing for internal structures and spaces, helping prevent water from passing from one compartment to another when a hatch is secured or a door is closed;

— supports effective thermal and sound insulation.

The principle behind reliable sealing of fixed joints is straightforward: marine-grade rubber is pressed against the adjacent sealing surfaces of covers or against sealing strips in support profiles. Timely replacement of sealing rubber helps prevent complete wear of the seal, reduced equipment performance, impaired operation of vessel systems, and potential safety risks for the entire vessel.

Physical and technical properties of marine-grade rubber

Elastic marine seals made from C 509 marine-grade rubber share the following key characteristics:

  • resistance to light exposure and ozone stability;
  • resistance to chemically aggressive media, including petrol, mineral oils, and other petroleum products;
  • reliable long-term performance within a temperature range from -30°C to +70°C;
  • shore hardness in the range of 22 to 34 units;
  • elongation at break of at least 500%;
  • nominal tensile strength of 15 kg/cm².

Types of marine seals

Ukrpromservice manufactures marine seals in various configurations, with several cross-section types and variations:

  • round
  • square
  • trapezoidal
  • rectangular

Marine-grade rubber is also used to manufacture products with custom cross-sections of varying complexity, according to customer requirements or drawings.

Through the continuous introduction of innovative technologies in the production of rubber technical products, Ukrpromservice maintains a high level of product quality at its own manufacturing facility in Dnipro. Experienced specialists are ready to handle tasks of different complexity and scale.
