MBS (oil-and fuel-resistant) and TMKSh (heat-frost-acid-alkali-resistant) rubber cords serve as seals in various pneumatic and hydraulic units, as well as in oil and fuel systems. These products can have round or rectangular cross-sections. In accordance with GOST, they are designed to withstand working fluid or gas pressures of up to 0.5–1 MPa, depending on the group. In addition, heat-resistant cords can be used to protect the cavities of various units from the ingress of fine debris and dust. Another function they serve is reducing friction between metal parts of equipment.

Types of rubber cords:

  • Acid- and alkali-resistant.
  • Heat-resistant (high-temperature sealing cord).
  • Designed for low-temperature applications.
  • Oil- and fuel-resistant (MBS grade).

To select a product, you need to know the working medium it will come into contact with and have a clear understanding of the temperature, environment, and physical operating conditions.

A versatile option is TMKSh rubber cord, which is resistant to acids (except carbonic and nitric acids), alkalis, gasoline, and oil. This heat-resistant cord withstands temperatures ranging from -300 to +450°C and retains its original properties when exposed not only to hot steam and air, but also to nitrogen and inert gases.
