For reliable operation of power transformers, the design includes gaskets made of oil- and petrol-resistant rubber containing essential rubber- and latex-based components. These static transformer seals help prevent leaks of oil, which serves as the working medium in electrical equipment. Rubber gaskets also protect insulating materials from the harmful effects of the external environment.

Properties and classification of transformer seals

Transformer seals, including gaskets and transformer cords used to seal connection points in electrical devices, are available in several types:

  • for bushing assemblies installed above or below the insulator;
  • for the oil conservator, sealing its plug and cover;
  • for insulating the tap changer shaft;
  • for the conservator tank sump;
  • vulcanized profiles for connecting the transformer tank to the cover;
  • for the oil dehydrator glass, providing a tight seal from the oil level indicator.

Rubber transformer seals manufactured by Ukrpromservice undergo full automated quality control using modern high-precision equipment. As a result, they have a consistent set of properties that meet European standards:

— resistance to acids, significant temperature fluctuations, and oxidation;

— strong electrical insulating properties;

— resistance to single impact loads;

— stable performance in different working media;

— extended service life due to the absence of sulphur-containing compounds released into the oil.

Transformer Cords

RPA Ukrpromservice LLC offers transformer cords as sealing products. They differ by hardness level — low, medium, or increased hardness — and by maximum permissible pressure in the working medium: Group 1 up to 0.5 MPa and Group 2 up to 1 MPa.

Several types of rubber cords are available in three main cross-section shapes — round, square, and rectangular shapes, for different operating conditions:

— heat-resistant;

— frost-resistant;

— oil- and petrol-resistant;

— resistant to acids and alkalis.
