Chevron seals compliant with GOST 22704 77, typically supplied as a complete set of rubber-fabric sealing rings, are used for effective sealing of rods and cylinders in hydraulic equipment. The following operating parameters should be considered when selecting these seals:

  • Designed to operate at pressures up to 630 kgf/cm² (63 MPa).
  • Suitable for reciprocating motion at speeds of up to 3 m/s.
  • Compatible with working media such as mineral oils, fresh and seawater, crude oil, and water-based emulsions within a temperature range of -50°C to +100°C

For the manufacture of chevron seals, Domestic fabric in accordance with GOST 1104-69, or cotton and blended fabrics with strength characteristics no lower than those of Domestic fabric, coated with a rubber compound, are used.
Chevron seals may be manufactured from bronze, textolite, polyamides, and other materials.

Depending on the operating temperature range, there are two groups of materials used in the manufacture of chevron seals:

  • Group 1: elastomer type— “Nairit,” operating temperature t = -30…+70°C;
  • Group 2: elastomer type— “Nairit+SKF,” operating temperature t = -50…+100°C.
